1948 Willys CJ2A Restoration Project

I have always been attracted to old Army Jeeps.  As a kid, I once heard a rumor that you could buy a surplus Army Jeep from the government for $500.00 that was not assembled, in a wooden crate, packed in grease.  I would dream about cleaning the grease off part by part and assembling this sweet little driving machine and cruising the neighborhood. Hell.  I would have settled for an old Postal Jeep for that matter.  Anyhow, I never really actively attempted to fulfill this dream until one day when I was driving down a street a few blocks from where I live and saw this plow attached to an ugly vehicle with a for sale sign on it.  I first thought that if this thing ran I could use it to plow my business lot.  When I took a closer look I realized that it was an old civilian Jeep someone bolted a cut out station wagon top on it.  I checked it out and thought to myself, I'll never find anything like this again so I bargained for the best price and acquired this bucket.  It ran fairly good but the lack of power steering was a bit funky, the clutch was very touchy and the gears were not easy to find.  I drove it to my property at night with no plates and door swinging wildly with each violent gear change. The tires were chirping the whole thing was lurching and I wish I had this on video because you would laugh your ass off if you saw it.  So here we go into the long and never ending process of getting my baby back in shape.
